Cooling Tower Anti-Recirculation

For the sake of our client's security and privacy, the case studies below are anonymised. However, if you have any queries regarding the technical specifications or scope of work undertaken during the projects, please get in touch, and we'll be happy to discuss them with you.

Rising energy costs and the need to preserve the available power for client service provision have made Anti-Recirculation a key focus area. On this project, 11 cooling towers were at maximum capacity and on hot days with the prevailing wind, steam venting from the cooling towers was being drawn directly back into the inlet fans. Aside from the cost of cooling air several times, the fans were being worked so hard that the noise was an issue as well as their higher maintenance. On this project, we used the existing plant screen steelwork as ‘free structure’ and installed 11 modular canopies to separate the inlet and exhaust for these units. As well as a significantly lower operating cost, these cooling towers now operate well within ideal design parameters. £350,000 project carried out under CDM.

We strive for a very approachable team, who are involved with all the projects that we do. The team share a lot of common interests outside of work, this includes supporting military shows, supporting charities close to our hearts and taking aid to Ukraine
