Transformer Protection
For the sake of our client's security and privacy, the case studies below are anonymised. However, if you have any queries regarding the technical specifications or scope of work undertaken during the projects, please get in touch, and we'll be happy to discuss them with you.
Every Data Centre has HV Transformers – some indoors, some outdoors. Usually, power cables are below ground and fed to the underside of the panels where the entry points are well protected against rainfall. Occasionally, especially on converted buildings, these cables are at the first-floor level and enter the panels at the top. Unfortunately, the integrity of the waterproofing and passing of time increases the risk of water ingress. On this occasion, the transformer panel with a forest of cables slowly filled with water until it reached the Buzz Bars. To protect these transformers from further rain water we installed roof and louvre canopies. By designing in existing plant screen steelwork as ‘free structural support’ we were able to minimise the cost. £250,000 works package.

We strive for a very approachable team, who are involved with all the projects that we do. The team share a lot of common interests outside of work, this includes supporting military shows, supporting charities close to our hearts and taking aid to Ukraine
